1. How does DooWop.com’s resurfacing repair process work?
Our professional CD and DVD resurfacing machine operates by using a friction-based wet polishing method where the disc is kept cool by water throughout the resurfacing process. It actually removes a very thin layer (less than half a micron) of the reading side of the disc. This 6-step method allows us to repair even deeply scratched discs that would otherwise have to be replaced. With our resurfacing machine your Disc will play and look LIKE NEW!!

2. Can all damaged CD’s be successfully repaired ?
Careful screening will ensure the best results, as certain damage CANNOT be repaired.
Carefully check the LABEL side for any damage, scratches or gouges as the encoding is very close to the label, and any damage here can make the CD unplayable.
Check both sides of the disc for any cracks. Cracks sometimes look like a scratch, but cannot be repaired. Hold the disc up to a bright light, with the PLAY surface facing you. If any patches of light show through, then the data has been damaged and cannot be repaired.
Most CDs are repairable, and some minor data loss can be tracked over without problems. Following these guidelines will help you get the best possible results from your repaired disc. There is no process that can restore damaged or missing encoding from the label side, therefore it is important to screen your discs carefully before sending them in for repair.
3. Can anything be done for CD’s that are damaged on the label side?
Damaged or missing encoding cannot be repaired or replaced. Most players are able to track over minor damage without much difficulty, especially scratches through the data that radiate from the center outwards. Scratches to the data that follow the direction of play will usually cause a problem. We do repair all discs sent to us, and cannot issue refunds for discs that have not been properly screened.
4. Do you play the discs to make sure the repair was successful?
Due to the volume of discs we repair, it would be impossible to play them all. However, our processing thoroughly reveals any areas that are not repairable, and our success rate is extremely high.

5. Does this repair process work on Playstation games?
Our repair process works exceptionally well on Playstation, Sega, X-Box, Music, CDG, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW and DVD (single-sided only).
6. How long will it take to get my CD’s resurfaced?
In general discs will be resurfaced and shipped out to you within 3-4 days.
